MRS. COOPER'S RITES CONDUCTED

Funeral services for Mrs. D.J. Cooper, 71, longtime Olney resident, were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday from the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Leon Christiansen, assistant pastork and Rev. Leslie Bell of Fort Worth officiating.

Mrs. Cooper died at 8:35 a.m. Sunday at Olney Hamilton Hospital of pneumonia and heart trouble. She had been seriously ill for a week.

A native of Arkansas, Mrs. Cooper was born in that state on February 27, 1886. She was the former Maggie Jannie Badgwell. She and D.J, Cooper were married Montague County. They moved to Olney from Wise County, 33 years ago and lived here ever since.

Surviving are her husband; 5 sons, Chester Cooper, D.J. Cooper, Jr., W.R. Cooper and L.S. Cooper, all of Olney, and W.T. Cooper of Odessa, four daughters, Mrs. R.W. Lindley of Fort Worth, Mrs. R.E. Bearden of Eunice, NM. Mrs. Dale January 1Scoggin of Odessa and Miss Corene Cooper of Odessa.two sisters, Mrs. Raymond Ward of Bowie and Mrs. Lillie McNatt of Casa Grande, Ariz, one brother H.J. Badgwell of Wichita Falls; and 13 grandchildren.

Lunn Funeral Home was in charge of burial in Olney Cemetery.
