DEATH CLAIMS SARAH AYERS
Mrs. Sarah Ayers Dies Friday Afternoon At Daughter’s Home
Mrs. Sarah Ayers, 78, well-known Adams county resident, died Friday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sherman Archer, south of Pleasant Mills.
Death was attributed to complications following an illness of three years. The deceased was born in Wren, Ohio, March 30, 1862, the daughter of James and Mary Smith Teeple.
She came to Adams county with her parents when an infant and had resided here since. For a number of years she resided on Eighth Street in Decatur, moving to her daughter’s home three years ago. Her husband preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Archer and Mrs. Alma Sovine of Sturgis, Michigan; two sons, Fred and William of Chicago. Two Brothers and a sister are deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon at the S.E. Black funeral home. Rev. Kenneth Timmons, pastor of the First Christian church here, of which she was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Tabor cemetery.
The body may be viewed at the Black funeral home after 7 p.m. this evening until the time of the funeral.

FORMER RESIDENT DIES FRIDAY NIGHT
Mrs. Sarah Ayers, 78, former resident of Wren, died Friday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Sherman Archer of near Pleasant Mills. She was born at Wren, but had spent most of her life in Adams county.
Surviving are two sons, Fred and William Ayers of Chicago, and two daughters, Mrs. Archer and Mrs. Alma Sovine of Sturgis, Mich. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Decatur with burial in Mt. Tabor cemetery.
