Mrs. Hitz was owner with her husband of the Hitz Florist and Greenhouse in Versailles for 32 years. retiring in 1978. She was a member of the Tyson United Methodist Church and the Leora Weare American Legion Post #1 Auxiliary, Versailles.
Mrs. Hitz was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lawrence and Lela Barringer.
Visitation will be held Wednesday from 5-8 P.M. at Bovards Funeral Home in Versailles. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 3 at 10 A.M. with the Rev. Timothy Rasmussen and Rev. James Wheeler, nephew, officiating.
Pall bearers will be grandson Christopher Armbrecht and Ryan Hitz, nephews Michael Turner and William Turner, and brother-in-laws William L. Wheeler and Alvin Hutchcraft.
Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Madison.
Memorials may be made to Rescue 69 or the Ripley County Unit of the American Cancer Society.
