ANDREW - Thomas G. Andrew, 81, 7305 Argyle Road, Caledonia, died at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 1985, in Rockford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Born Feb. 18, 1904, in Argyle, son of Thomas and Mary Ann Picken Andrew. Lifelong Rockford area resident. Married the former Ruth McCathran in Caledonia, Dec. 28, 1927. Farmed most of his life on the family homestead of more than 100 years. Life member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, where he was elder and trustee; past president Rockford Mutual Insurance Co. (1964-1977); past president Winnebago County Mutual Fire Insurance Co (1953-1975); currently director emeritus of both companies. Past president Illinois Association of Mutual Insurance Companies; Secretary Argyle Scottish Cemetery Association; member Roscoe Masonic Lodge and former grand master; Freeport Consistory; and Tebala Shrine Temple. Graduated from Rockford High School in 1923. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; a daughter, Marianne Key, Waterloo, Iowa; a son, Thomas A. Andrew, Argyle; a sister, Beth Andrew, Rockford; a granddaughter, Marsha Berg, Minneapolis, Minn; a grandson, Thomas W. Andrew, Argyle; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by five sisters and a brother. Services at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME LTD, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with the Rev. Steven Plank, pastor of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial in Argyle Scottish Cemetery. Memorials to the church.
