ANDREW - Ruth E. Andrew, 80, 7305 Argyle Road, Caledonia, died 4:01 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 4, 1985 in Loyola University Hospital after a short illness. Born Nov. 23, 1905, in Rockford, daughter of Alexander and Mary McCathran. Lifelong resident of Argyle area. Married Thomas G. Andrew in Caledonia, Dec. 28, 1927. Employed as teacher by Argyle schools for several years; taught piano in her home many years. Lifetime member of Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, where she was pianist, organist and choir director more than 50 years. Member Order of Eastern Star - Roscoe and Loves Park chapters, serving as organist at Loves Park; Daughters of the Nile; sang with Alabet Choraliers. Graduated from Rockford Central High School in 1923. Survivors include a daughter, Marianne Key, Waterloo, Iowa; a son, Thomas A., Argyle; a granddaughter, Marsha Berg, Minneapolis, Minn.; a grandson, Thomas W. Andrew, Argyle; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by husband, Thomas G., September 6, 1985, and a sister, Abbie McCathran Greenlee.
Services 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, in DELEHANTY FUNERAL HOME LTD, 401 River Lane, Loves Park, with the Rev. Steven Plank, pastor, Willow Creek Presbyterian Church, Argyle, officiating. Burial in Scottish Cemetery, Argyle. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday. Memorials to the church.
