Sgt. 1st Class Charles M. Sadell, 34, of Columbia, Mo., died Oct. 24 at National Naval Medical Center, Bethesda, Md., of wounds suffered Oct. 5 at Arif Kala, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y. He is survived by: his wife and two sons of the home, in Weston; his mother Jane Curry of St. Albert, Alberta Canada; his grandparents Sid and Mary Hanson of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan Canada; two sisters Jessica Sadell of Alberta Canada and Shannon Thornhill, and husband Spurgeon, of Columbia, MO; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
