Funeral services for Albert Richard Spiering, who died of pneumonia Friday at his home at Rapid City, S.D., were held her Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Johnson-Thenhaus-Howser chapel. The Rev. George S. Morrell, pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal church, was in charge. During the services Mr. and Mrs. Morrell sang two selections.
Mr. Spiering, son of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Spiering, was born June 9, 1906, in Norfolk, and was 28 years of age at the time of his death.
He was married to Claire Bebernerr, Oct. 20, 1924, at Sioux City, Ia., and to his union three children were born. The family left here soon after the marriage and went to Seattle, Wash., where they stayed for about a year, before moving to Rapid City, where they were living at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife of Rapid City, who was unable to be here for the services because of serious injuries she received in an automobile accident, shortly after her husband's death; three children, Robert, Jerald, and Loretta of Rapid City; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Spiering of Norfolk, nine sisters and five brothers, an uncle, Charles Spiering of Norfolk, besides many other relatives.
Interment was made in the New Lutheran cemetery, and pallbearers were Emil Geisler, Royal Heckendorf, Willard Krueger, Gilbert Anderson, Chester Lehman and Leonard Kaul.
