Perry K. Stevens, 79, Ashtabula businessman for 30 years, died Friday in the home of his brother, Norris Stevens, 1851 Knowles av, Cleveland.
Born in Perry, O., on Sept 6, 1874 Mr. Stevens left Ashtabula about 25 years ago and had been living with his brother for the past six years. In Ashtabula, he owned and operated a restaurant and pool room on Main av and also managed a ball club, Stevens' Braves. He played professional baseball in Sioux City Ia., in the Central League.
He leaves one sister, Mrs. Ida Mae Smith of St. Petersburg, Fla.; five brothers, Timothy, West av., Ashtabula, and Leon W. of 37th st, Ashtabula, Arthur of St. Petersburg, Edson C. of Youngstown and Norris of Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Mamie Hayes of Sioux City, Ia., six years ago, and by a brother, Frank in 1942.
Funeral services will be held at 2 .m. Monday in the Owen Funeral Home, Euclid av and Noble rd., Cleveland, with burial in Cleveland.
