Amos Butterworth, aged seventy-six years, a veteran of the Civil War and an inmate of the county farm for thirty years, died at an early hour Monday morning of disease incident to old age. He was buried by the local G.A.R. post. No near relatives survive. Mr. Butterworth was one of the 165 men who enlisted from Hamilton county, he having been a resident of Homer. But nine of these 165 still live.
