David Daniel Snepp Jr. was born to David Daniel Sr. and Elizabeth Isley. Father was born in Pennsylvania and mother in Tennessee. They met, married and raised their children in Ohio. At a young age he was apprenticed to become a blacksmith, a trade he worked at before he became a farmer. He married Mary Rollman, daughter of George and Barbara Rollman and in March 1839, they left Montgomery Co., Ohio for Shelby Co., Indiana to start their own farm. His brothers William and John had already moved to the same area. The trip was made in Farm Wagons over rugged country and unbridged streams. David was just as successful as his father had been. In his fathers bio in a history book said he had purchased a farm for each of his sons. They must have prefered Indiana to Ohio.
