Joseph Jiranek, age 88 of Yorkville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2001 at his home. He was born on May 6, 1913 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Josef and Anna (Jezek) Jiranek.
    Mr. Jiranek was united in marriage to the former Beatrice Rada and they spent many happy years of their lives together until her passing on May 28, 1980. He was a loving husband, father, and brother who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
    Joseph was formerly employed as a die maker by the Prestige Finishers in Chicago, Illinois until his retirement. Mr. Jiranek served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Yorkville American Legion Post #489.
    He is survived by his sons, Alan Jiranik and Jerry Jiranek, both of Yorkville, Illinois, as well as his sister, Mary Dahl of Cicero, Illinois.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beatrice; his sister Barbara Jiranek; and his brother, Frank Jerane.
    Funeral Services for Mr. Jiranek will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 15, 2001 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, Illinois with Pastor Ivan Truman officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery, Yorkville, Illinois.
