Died at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 1975, at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital. She was 84, a native of Morgan City and a resident of Baton Rouge. Body at Rabenhorst Funeral Home with visiting at 11:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. Monday. Services at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Rev. Joseph Graham officiating. Buriel in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Survived by two daughters, Mrs. L.L. (Thais) Elliott and Mrs. E.C. (Laura Mae) Diamond, both of Baton Rouge; three sons, Merlyn T. Chaney and Cyril G. Chaney, both of Baton Rouge, and George W. Chaney Jr., Zachary; sister, Mrs. Laura T. Thompson, Baton Rouge; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, George W. Chaney Sr., and a son, Sheldon Chaney. She was a member of Sanctuary Society of St. Anthony's. Rosary will be held 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
