Laura Mae Gibson Carroll Crawley passed from this life to her heavenly home to be with her beloved Lord and Savior on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the age of 109 years, 11 months and 12 days.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with burial following in Union Grove Cemetery. The family is to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

She was born Nov. 6, 1900, the daughter of John Weslie and Martha Marinda Gibson, in Choctaw, Okla., and later moved to Texas. She married Elvie Dee Carroll in 1919. They had five children. After his death, she married Robert B. Crawley in 1945.

She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and was loved by all. She loved the Lord and attended her church as long as she was able. She worked at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital for many years and loved all the children there. After she retired, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens. She enjoyed many years of living in Legend Healthcare Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by both her husbands, twin sons, Leslie Dale "Fat" Carroll and Weslie Dee "Skinny" Carroll and his wife, Wanda; a grandson, David Jones, a granddaughter, Anna Marie Carroll; a great-grandson, Darby Jones; four sisters and eight brothers.

Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Jones of Dallas and her daughter, Carol Ann Jones, the first grandchild of Mrs. Crowley. Doris Kaski of Waukegan, Ill. and Billye Bridges of Lake Dallas; a daughter-in-law, Laura Carroll of Hopewell; 11 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren, several great-great-great-grandchildren, and several great-great-great-great-grandchildren.
