WATERFORD - Clements G. Biedenbach, 90, formerly of Waterford, died Friday (April 9, 2010) at Heartland of Marietta.

He was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Waterford, son of Albert Edward and Amelia Smithberger Biedenbach. He graduated from Waterford High School and retired from Ohio Power Company Muskingum River Plant. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church, American Legion Post No. 389 at Beverly, lifetime member of the Disabled American Veteran and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3665 at Beverly and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was married Nov. 3, 1941, to Evelyn Stollar Biedenbach, who died Feb. 21, 1997.

He is survived by a daughter, Margaret Joanne King and husband, Jim, of Marietta; two sons, Clem Biedenbach and wife, Sharon, of Beverly and Steven Biedenbach and wife, Karen, of Surry, Va.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; two half sisters, Amelia Pottmeyer of Columbus and Marie McNabb and husband, Richard, of Waterford; a half brother, Robert Biedenbach and wife, Dorothy, of Beverly.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a daughter, Carolyn Powell; an infant son, George Randall Biedenbach; granddaughter, Brandi Jackson; great-grandson Joshua Jackson; three sisters, Freda Rauch, Helen Biedenbach and Laura Schoeppner; a half brother Wilfred Biedenbach.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Monsignor Robert Kawa officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery with military services at the grave. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly, where a rosary service will be held at 8:30 p.m. today.
