Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 12, 2010, at the Church of St. Augustine in St. Cloud for Audrey Ann Buhl, age 68, of St. Cloud, who passed away July 8, 2010, at her home, with her husband at her side, after a 13 month illness. Burial will take place in Christ the King Parish Cemetery in Browerville.
Relatives and friends may call from 5-9 p.m. on Sunday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Cloud. Parish Prayers will be held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Audrey was born July 26, 1941, in St. Paul, MN and was raised by Frank and Caroline (Fraune) Schluender. She graduated from Long Prairie High School in 1960, and then went onto graduate school to receive her Master of Science Degree from Oregon State University in Corvallis in textiles, clothing and related arts. She married Anthony J. Buhl on June 26, 1965, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Browerville. She taught at several universities including the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. She loved flowers, particularly wild flowers native to Minnesota, which she cultivated in her home garden. She is also remembered as a master of interior design and decorating. Her high school yearbook described her as "winsome and gracious, always a lady" and people who knew her would certainly agree.
Audrey is survived by her husband Anthony of St. Cloud, niece Linda Heatherly of Sacramento, CA and nephew Terry Dutton of Mesa, AZ.
She is preceded in death by Frank and Caroline Schluender and their three siblings.
Memorials are preferred.
