Jacksonville,Fla. Aug.31- Private Clifton Fisher,twenty-three of Waynesboro,Va., stationed at camp Blanding,drowned in the Atlantic ocean off Jacksonville Beach yesterday,Lieut.John W.Lynch of the 104th Medical Corps announced.
Fisher was swimming outside the area guarded by the life saving corps and was swept under by a wave,witness said.An identification tag listed the next of kin as Elizabeth Kirby,Route one,Waynesboro,Va.
Waynesboro,Aug.31.- Private Clifton Fisher, a native of Albemarle County,but a resident of near Waynesboro for a number of years,was inducted into the Army on Feb,21,1942 as a selective Service of the Augusta No.1 Selective Service Board.
His mother has wired requesting that the body be shipped to Waynesboro for burial.Arrangements will be in charge of the Etter funeral home.Details will be announced later.
