Obituary
MIRE - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2004, at a Mass in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church for Delphine Leger, 88, the former Delphine Thibodeaux, who died at 1:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2004, at Maison de Lafayette.

Interment will be in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery. The Rev. Monsignor Russell Harrington of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Valarie Andrus. The songs will be "Amazing Grace", "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Here I am Lord".

Mrs. Leger was a native and lifelong resident of Mire. She was a parishioner of Assumption of the Blessed Mother Catholic Church in Mire.

Survivors include three sons, Austin Leger Sr. and his wife, Janelle, of Mire, Preston Leger and his wife, Betty, of Scott, and Merlin Joseph Leger and his wife, Yvette, of Lafayette; three brothers Felician Thibodeaux, of San Antonio, Texas, John C. Thibodeaux, of Sunset, and Freddie Thibodeaux, of Church Point; and one sister, Armance Mouton, of Lake Charles; 13 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Olide J. Leger, of Mire; her parents, Joseph Siphryen Thibodeaux and the former Marie Adele Rivet, both natives of Church Point; four brothers, Luke Thibodeaux, Joseph Thibodeaux, Jean (Bot) Thibodeaux and Ferdie Thibodeaux; and four sisters, Elena Comeaux Navarre, Rose Richard, Madline Richard and Eleanor Venable.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Leger, Laine Leger, Bryan Sten, Craig Leger, Calvin Leger and Austin Leger. Honorary pallbearer will be Jared Leger.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro 4615 N. University Ave., was in charge of arrangements.
