Mrs. Kate Vaughn Gilfillan, wife of the late T.N. Gilfillan, died of pneumonia last evening at 5:30 o'clock. She was born in 1853 near Toledo, Ohio, and her parents dying at an early age, was raised by John Wright of Mansfield, Ohio.
She was educated in Pawnee City, Nebraska, where her marriage took place and made her home during her entire married life in East Brook, Pa., being a member and constant attendant of the United Presbyterian church at that place. During the later years of her life she was an invalid, requiring constant hospital treatment.
She leaves the following children surviving her: Dr. Margery J. Gilfillan of Battle Creek, Michigan, James H. Gilfillan, J.Clyde Gilfillan and Albert Harrison Gilfillan of this city, Mrs. James J. Studebaker of Brackenridge, Pa., Mrs. J.T.K. Smith of Jacksonville, Florida, and Rev. T.C. Gilfillan of Jetmore, Kansas.
The burial services will be conducted by Dr. S.E. Irvine, pastor of the First United Presbyterian church, at the home of her son, J.Clyde Gilfillan at 414 Glenmore Blvd., at 2:00 o'clock p.m. Friday, November 22. The interment will be at the East Brook United Presbyterian Cemetery.
