James Dodds, a venerable octogenarian, passed away Tuesday evening at the home of his son-in-law, Robert Stunkard, in Hickory Township, aged 84 years. Death was due to the infirmities incident to advanced age.
The deceased was born in County Down, Ireland. He came to this country when but 15 years of age and has resided ever since in the eastern part of this county where his demise occurred. For the last 28 years he has made his home with his son-in-law Robert Stunkard.
His wife died a number of years ago. Four children born of the union are also deceased, Lillian A., Elizabeth, John and Joseph, whose death occurred while in service in the Civil war. Mrs. Robert Stunkard of Hickory township and Mrs. W.S. McMillen of this city, are the only surviving children.
The funeral services will be held at the residence of Robert Stunkard Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Eastbrook cemetery.
