Lizzie was the seventh child of Adolphus and Elizabeth Ann (Bainbridge) Poe. She married her first husband c. 1907 and they had three sons - Orlan Lee, Joesph E. and Virgil W. Smith. They were divorced and she married William Fred Sinsel, with whom she had one son, Charles William Sinsel. They also had a daughter Kathryn Jane.
