Lena Dale Poe was the eighth child of Adolphus Poe and his wife Elizabeth Ann Bainbridge. She grew up on her parents' farm in Taylor County, along with 11 brothers and sisters.

Lena married William Clinton Ellers in 1911 and they had 9 children: Helen Lynette, William Carlton, Virginia Dale, Anna Lee, Dorothy Elizabeth, Mary Charlotte, Thelma Lorain, John Carlisle and Ramona Ruth.

OBITUARY

Mrs. Lena Dale Poe Ellers, 78, of 259 Grand St., passed away at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday in the Grafton City Hospital after an illness of one month.

She was born June 14, 1886, in Taylor County, a daughter of the late Adolphus and Elizabeth Ann Bainbridge Poe.

Surviving are her husband, William Clinton Ellers; two sons, William Carlton Ellers of Grafton, and John C. Ellers of Lexington, Va.; six daughters, Mrs. Virginia Dale Hanleiter, Mrs. Anna Lee Brutto, Mrs. Arthur (Dorothy) Snyder, Mrs. Harry (Mary) Hanleiter, and Mrs. Robert (Ramona) Henderson, all of Grafton and Mrs. Hal (Thelma) Hayes of Baltimore, Md; one brother, V. O. Poe of Grafton, four sisters, Mrs. Rose McConkey and Mrs. Lizzie Sinsel, both of Grafton, Mrs. Vertie Everly of Clam Lake, Wis. and Mrs. Ruby Falkenberg of Chicago, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

One daughter, Mrs. Lynette Kimble; five brothers, Alexander, Morgan, Stephen A., Samuel A. and Roy A. Poe; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Mason, are deceased.

Mrs. Ellers was a member of the First Baptist Church of Grafton, and she was a member of the G.I.A. of B.L F. and E.
