Laid to Rest in Edgar
William Horace Beck was born at Wheeling, Mo., March 12, 1873 and passed away from this life Nov 19 1928 at the age of 55 years, 8 months and seven days.
At the age of six months his parents moved to Nebraska to the homestead on which he lived until his death. His father, mother and one sister preceded him in death.
As a young man Mr. Beck was converted and joined the Presbyterian
Church of Ong. On March 22, 1899 he was united in marriage to Lois Morgan. To this union five children were born, four sons and one daughter. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and children; Howard M. Beck, of Lincoln; Myron E. Beck of Benkelman; Mrs. Percy Goesch of Angus; Frederick H. Beck of Ong; J. Wendell Beck of Ong. He also leaves two grandchildren, also two brothers and two sisters; Herbert A. Beck of Edgar; Mrs. Walter Woodhead of Edgar; Stephen E. Beck of Edgar and Mrs. Ross Phelps of San Francisco California.
Besides these he leaves relatives and a host of friends who deeply feel the loss of their companion and friend.
Mr. Beck bore an enviable reputation for honesty and faith in mankind. His love for his family was always paramount above all other ideals in his life. Congenial and friendly, his mutual esteem was highly regarded.
The high regard in which he was held was evidenced by the large concourse of friends and neighbors who gathered to pay their at respects at the last sad rites held at the Ong Methodist Episcopal Church Thursday afternoon. The impressive Masonic services were held at the grave in Edgar where the remains were laid at rest.
The sympathy of the entire community is extended the family in their loss.
