DIED -- This community deplores the loss of Mrs. James Shellenberger from among us. Hattie May Dancy was born in Johnson county, Nebraska, Dec. 23d, 1868, died April 23d, 1900. She was married to James Shellenberger on July 22d, 1887. They united with the M.E. Church during their residence in Oregon in 1890. They returned to Kansas in 1892 and united with the U.B. Church at Republic in 1895, of which she was a consistent member until death. She leaves a husband and four boys, Harry, Ray, Charles and the infant about two weeks old, to mourn their loss. The funeral took place at the parental home, (where they were residing,) at 10 o'clock and was conducted by Rev. C.A. Lee, of the U.B. Church of Republic, in a very able and appropriate manner, after which the remains were interred in the Prairie Rose cemetery. To the greatly bereaved husband and children, father, sisters and brothers we extend the most heartfelt sympathies.

A special thank you to Kenneth E. Holmes for finding this death notice.
