Frances married (1) JOHN REEVES WARD on March 2, 1882 in Tecumseh, Johnson County, Nebraska, son of JAMES OSBORNE WARD and his wife SARAH JANE STEELE. John was born December 9, 1858 in Owen County, Indiana, and died December 7, 1891 in Gordon, Sheridan County, Nebraska. Frances' life with John Reeves Ward is told in Gerald W. McFarland's book A Scatter People: An American Family Moves West (First published by Pantheon Books, a division of Random House, Inc 1985; Penguin Books 1987) at pages 212-221.

Frances married (2) PEREZ SMITH on October 20, 1895 in Republic City, Republic County, Kansas, son of LEONARD FARWELL SMITH and his wife ABIGAIL DAVIS. Perez was born on April 15, 1841 in Wolcott, Lamoille County, Vermont, and died March 19, 1912 in Republic, Republic County, Kansas.
