Memorial services for Clarence E. Hicks were held at 2pm Feb 12 at the Hicks Cemetery in Ozark County near Theodosia.Clarence Hicks was born March 6, 1915, and died on Feb. 8, 1998, in the home of his daughter, Pamela Joy Stockwell, in Shepherd, Mich. He was 82.Clarence was united in marriage to Elsie Mears in 1939. To this union three daughters were born: Clara Joan Harrison, of Monrona , Calif; Carol Ivon Barker, Chowchilla, Calif., and Pamela Joy Stockwell of Shepherd, Mich. He had eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Clarence is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clara Harrison, of St. Louis, and Mrs. Opal Miser, of Rogers, Ark.; three brothers, Leano Boyd Hicks, of Zinc , Ark., Edgar W. Hicks, of Ava, and Robert W. Hicks, of Beebe, Ark.Clarence was proceeded in death by his wife Elsie, in 1993; both his parents, Talmon and Fannie Bragg Hicks; and five brothers and sisters.Clarence grew up in the Mt. Tabor area then moved to California. After retiring he moved to Harrison, Ark. He was a baptist minister, and was loved by all who knew him.(Feb 19, 1998 Douglas County Herald)
