Garrison Boone was told by his Grandmother that she was "half German and half French".

Almira is the daughter of John E. Freer b. France and Delana Hounsome b. Germany

In the 12th & 13th centuries Freer or written La Frere. Appearing in Norfolk and Suffolk England, La Frere came with William the Conqueror under Robert Malet and settled in Suffolk. All of this maybe part of family history.

Freer English descendant of the Friar, Frere, Freres-a member of a religious order. " A Friar at Reformation. Many of the Frairs rehounces their vows chastity and married.

1850 Census: John 73; Ana 59; Alvira 13; Almira 9; all born in New York; two girls were in school.

1860 US Census, Almira Freer age 19, is living in Seneca, Ontario, NY ; Post office: Geneva and working as a demostic in the household of William Foster along with a wife & 7 children, ages from 28-13 years.

On July 4, 1861, Elmira married John Boone in Seneca Castle, Ontario, New York. Their first child, Eudora, was born March 19,1862 in Yates County, New York and after moving to Michigan, 8 other's followed.

Almira worked in the Brant Methodist Church Ladies Aid and played piano accompaniment for the Men's choir. John sang in the choir.

After John's death, Almira filed for and recieved a widows pension of $20 a month.

Elmira was 84y 1m 16d old when she died of a Cerebral Hemorrhage.
