JOHN SAMUEL BOONE, 73, resident of Hillsdale twp 16yrs passed away at his home about 3 o'clock Sunday p.m. , following an illness of about a week. Death due to heart disease.
He was born in Hillsdale Co., Oct 9, 1866 and for a number of years worked in hillsdale as a carpenter. He and his wife Addie who survives celebrated their 50th wedding annniversary Nov. 9, 1939. He was a former member of Cambria I00F lodge. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Howard Pease of Hillsdale and Mrs. Oliver Aldrich of Jackson; a sister Mrs. Hugh Unwin of Brant; four brothers, Arthur of Flint, Henry of Lansing, William of Cheboygan and Oliver of Brant; and seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will beheld at the Dutcher Funeral Chapel, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev A.E. Moor will officiate and burial will be in the Bankers cemetery. The body will be returned to the Boone home Tuesday morning. A short prayer service will be held at the home at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon.
