Arvilla Martin of Utica, 88, was born on Friday, Feb. 28, 1919, in Cooper to Jack Joseph Anderson and Rebecca (McMillan) Anderson. She passed from this life on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Denison, Texas. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wed at the Utica Baptist Church in Utica. Bro. Jay Perry will officiate. Family hour will be to from 6-8 p.m. at Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home.

Arvilla was a member of the Utica Baptist Church and the Utica FCE. She taught Sunday School at Armstrong and Utica for many years. She loved her juniors and missed them very much when she had to step down due to health problems. She loved to fish, especially with her favorite grandson, Justin.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Rebecca Anderson; husband H.B. Martin on Oct. 13, 1985; brothers Fred, Grover and Joe Anderson; sisters Mary Nelson and Mildred King.

Arvilla is survived by daughter Bonnie DeLashaw and husband Larry of Utica; granddaughter Donna Dow and husband Steve of Utica; granddaughter Diana DeLashaw of Dallas, Texas; great-grandson Justin Dow of Utica; brother Lonnie Anderson and wife Norma of Durant; brother J.T. Anderson of Durant; brother-in-law Jack King of Durant.

Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Pleasant Hill Community east of Armstrong. Pallbearers will be Bob Anderson, Andy Anderson, Karl Mitchell, Tony Simmons, Chris Haworth and Donald Arnold.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Utica Baptist Church Building Fund. The address is 46 South Martin Lane, Bokchito, Oklahoma 74701.
