He was the son of William Myers and Emma Dustin
While living in Carthage, his father owned and operated a woolen mill, a factory for the manufacture of men's pants and was also interested in a lime kiln. After moving to Joplin around 1911, his father organized the Joplin Cement Company, which now was operated by his brother Frank M. Myers.
He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of Lanpher Mortuary of Joplin.
