Will found in Chester County, probated August 10, 1802. Names his wife Janet, which would be a second wife. Father of John Jr., William, Martha, Ann, David, Daniel, Agnes, Elizabeth and James E.

There is a John Cupit who served in the American Revolution. He only shows up on a roll dated 8 September 1778. There is no proof yet that this is him.

Many of his children moved to Franklin County, MS.
