"Death of a Pioneer" Mrs. Augusta Moorhouse passed away, aged 91 years. Mrs. Augusta Moorhouse died at her home in Weston last night, from complications resulting from advanced age. Mrs. Moorhouse is one of the oldest residents of this country, having come here with her husband, Thomas Moorhouse many years ago. She was born in Germany, September 9, 1811, and came to this country with her parents when she was 9 years of age, the family settling in Ohio. There she married Thomas Moorhouse and afterwards came across the plains on the "Morgan Wagon Train" to this county, settling near Walla Walla, and after a short residence there moved to Weston, where they have resided since. The husband of the deseased lady died less than a year ago at Weston. Mrs. Moorhouse is the mother of Lee Moorhouse, of this city, and there is one other son, John Moorhouse, whose present whereabouts are not known. The funeral was held from the family residence this afternoon at 3 o'clock, the bural taking place in the cemetery at Weston.
