Almeda was born in Woodburn, Iowa, and was educated in the Pleasant View School in Clarke County. On October 23, 1901, she was married to Clyde Heston in Woodburn. To this union two children were born, Gertrude and Viola. She lived her entire life in Clarke County and was affiliated with the United Methodist Church in Woodburn.
In later years she worked at the Puritan Cafe in Osceola at the four corners as a dishwasher. She lived in an apartment south of Osceola and after her brother's Fred's wife died she moved in with him in Osceola. She inherited this house on Adams Street after he passed away and lived there until she went to the Leisure Manor Nursing Home.
