MT. CRAWFORD - Mrs. Bessie Wooddell, 39, of Rt. 1, Mt. Crawford, a former resident of Harrisonburg, died unexpectedly Friday morning (Aug. 5, 1966) at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1926 at Port Republic and was a daughter of Benjamin Harrison and the late Jane Knighten. Besides her father, she is survived by her husband, Earl Wooddell; nine children, Mrs. Gloria Crider of Rt. 3, Harrisonburg, Curtis Dean of Woodbridge, Miss Betty Wooddell of Harrisonburg, Barbara, Tommy, Wanda, Don, Nancy and Timothy, all of Mt. Crawford; four sisters, Mrs. Goldie Eavers and Mrs. Reba Manning, both of Harrisonburg, Mrs. Odell Dean of Weyers Cave, and Mrs. Mae Southerly of Dayton; two brothers Franklin of Mt. Holly, N. J. and Fred Knighten of Harrisonburg, and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted at 4 p. m. today at the Lindsay Harrisonburg Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. L. C. Huddle. Burial will be in the St. Jacobs Church Cemetery.
Relatives will meet at the funeral chapel at 3:45 p. m. today.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lokey, DeRay Eavers, Richard Deviers, Marion Guyer, Elbert VanPelt and Allen Dean.
