Tommy R. Wooddell, 60, of Harrisonburg, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2013 surrounded by family at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Mt. Solon, Virginia on August 14, 1952 to the late Earl M. and Bessie (Knighten) Wooddell.

He worked in construction and concrete excavation the majority of his life.

Tommy was an avid solver of crossword puzzles, a self-taught guitar aficionado and singer of any "old time" country music song. His laugh was infectious, he never met a stranger and no one ever forgot meeting him. Tommy believed in living life to its fullest and never regretting one minute of it.

Tommy left behind many, many loved ones. These are just a few:
The love of his life, June Barnette, his three daughters, that he was so proud of, Lori Wooddell, Tina Boxley and husband, Price, and Rhonda Crawford and husband, Ricky. His pride extended to his four step children Dawnelle Beall, Chad Sager, Tad Sager and Destiny Sager.

His brothers and sisters brought so much laughter, love and pride to his life. His five sisters are, Virginia Miller and husband, Bruce, Barbara Guyer and husband Wayne, Betty Martin, Wanda Rogers and husband, Dave, and Nancy Sites and husband, Gale. His four brothers are, Eddie Wooddell and wife Minnie, Curtis Dean, Don Wooddell and wife, Connie, and Timmy Wooddell and wife, Linda. He has four grandchildren, Landon, Chase, Caleb, and Courtney. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends mourn his passing but also celebrate his life. This man was truly loved. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Ann Spitzer and Gloria Dean Crider.

If you would like to show your appreciation of Tommy, please take the time to love, laugh, appreciate and forgive those that mean the most to you.

A private memorial service will be held for the family at a later date.
