Beverly Jane Matson Lange 1932 ~ 2005

The Eternal Father in Heaven has called home an exceptionally devoted, talented wife, mother and grandmother, Beverly Jane Matson Lange, age 73, to join him in Eternal Rest. Beverly, a Pullman, WA, resident passed away very peacefully October 3, 2005 at her home in Pullman.

Beverly was born July 25, 1932 to Joseph Rask and Myrtice Clinton Matson at Salt Lake City, Utah. Both parents were descendants of early Utah pioneer families. She graduated from East High School in Salt Lake City in 1949 and attended the University of Utah. In the same city she married 2nd Lt. Frederick Charles Lange Jr. on September 12, 1950 at the First Presbyterian Church. For the next twenty years she accompanied her pilot husband to his permanent U.S. Air Force assignments across this country and England. In 1964 her husband was assigned from England as an Assistant Professor to the AFROTC Detachment at Washington State University in Pullman, WA where the family then made their permanent home.

She was a member of Lynds Chapter #1 Order of the Eastern Star in Salt Lake City and the Washington State, Whitman County Genealogical Society.

She was employed in the bookkeeping department of the Student's Book Corporation from 1967 to 1980 at Washington State University and retired from Holland Library at the University in 1995 where she had worked since 1983.

Being a homemaker was her greatest pleasure, including her children and grandchildren. Music was a continuous love for Beverly. She also enjoyed various crafts, sewing, cooking, bridge, miniatures, and travel. She continuously honored requests for information and services from friends.

She is survived by her husband at the family home, two sons; Fred K Lange (Kerry) of Springfield, VA; and Robert C Lange (Laureen) of Eagle, ID; six grandchildren: Jeffrey and Megan of Springfield, VA; Alexandra, Samantha, Sydney, and Casey of Eagle, ID; one brother, Joseph Clinton Matson of Salt Lake City, UT. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday October, 10, 2005 at Kimball Funeral Home in Pullman, Washington. Rev. Terry Candler will be officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Salt Lake City, UT. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is in charge of the arrangements.

Beverly requested that any remembrances be given to the Masonic Temple Endowment Fund, 650 E So Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84102 or any Shriner's Hospital.
