Mrs. Fallin was born June 14, 1917 in Lincoln Parish and passed away April 20, 2007 in Simsboro, following a brief illness.
Velma was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church. She was a Director of Christian Education for twenty five years at First United Methodist Church in Pineville and for five years in Ruston at Trinity United Methodist Church. She organized an Alzheimer's Support Group in Pineville and Ruston. She also founded the DMA Club and was Co-founder of Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church in Pineville. Mrs. Fallin volunteered for the Council on Aging and was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Fallin, granddaughter, Becky Lynn Simmering, and two sisters.
Mrs. Fallen is survived by daughters, Judy Fallin Woodard and husband Paul and Jeanie Fallin Simmering and husband Rick; grandchildren, Ben Simmering and fianc?e Lacy Smith, Grant Simmering and wife Mandy; great grandson, Brady Simmering; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Don McGehee, John Corley, Marvin Davidson, Tim Taylor, Jack Stehr, Ray Matthews, Neal Walpole, and Phillip Brooks. Honorary pallbearer will be Fred Hood.
Vitiation will be from 5-8 p.m., Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
