Sandra Teetsel Anderson, 46, wife of Donald Anderson of Towanda RD 3, Towanda Township, died Monday morning, April 18, 1988 at Memorial Hospital, Towanda following a lingering illness.
Born July 29, 1941 in Meshoppen, PA, she was a daughter of George and Margaret VanGorden Teetsel. Sandy attended Tunkhannock High School and was a graduate of the State Beauty School in Williamsport, PA.
For the past nine years she owned and operated her own beauty salon, Sandy Anderson's Beauty Shop, in Towanda. Her main interest in life was in her home and family. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens in her leisure time.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; two sons: Randy Vanderpool of Wyalusing and Clinton Anderson, at home; two daughters: Mrs. Alex (Vicky) Hogan of Wysox and Candi Anderson of Monroeton; her parents, George and Margaret Teetsel of Meshoppen; five grandchildren; four sisters: Mrs. Albert (Shirley) Frank of Springfield, Mass, Mrs. Howard (Jean) Bevridge of Belem, Brazil, Mrs. Stephen (Sue) Cravath of Gouldsboro, PA, Mrs. Kenneth (Darlene) Underwood of Meshoppen; two brothers, Marvin and Peter Teetsel of Meshoppen; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by a brother Ronald George Teetsel on July 5, 1963.
The funeral service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave, Towanda, with the Rev. Michael Stine, pastor of the Monroeton United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Camptown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-0 at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials be directed to Memorial Hospital, Towanda, PA in Mrs. Anderson's memory.
