Betty June Bailey, 81, 801 E. Votaw St., Portland, died today at Jay County Hospital.
Born in Jay County on June 23, 1925, to Philo and Minnie (Wallace) Bailey, she graduated from Madison Township High School in 1944.
Retiring from Portland Insurance Agency in 1996 after 45 years, she had also worked at The Equity Store, Syphers Drug Store and J & P Custom Plating, all of Portland.
Memberships include West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland, Jay County Hospital Auxiliary and Jay County Hospital Prime Time Organization.
Survivors include two sisters, Mary J. Clear, Portland, and Mrs. John (Phyllis) Hall, Goshen; and three nephews.
Services are Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice or West Walnut Street Church of Christ Memorial Fund, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
