Rincon - Glennis O. Bragg, 79, passed on Saturday, October 7, 2006, at Hospice Savannah.

Glenn was the first boy born in Savannah on January 1, 1927. He served with the Merchant Marines Fleet during WWII making many voyages across the Atlantic to supply our troops in Europe.

Glenn worked for Union Camp for over 36 years and was a member of Boilermakers Local #26. He was a past member of the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth and accepted Jesus as his savior there in 1958.

Glenn is preceded into eternal life by his wife of 56 years, Grace Boatright Bragg, and daughter, Ramona Denise Simpson.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg Bragg of Rincon, David and Melissa Bragg of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Horton and Martha Edenfield, both of Rincon; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Thomas S. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Emit Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Statesboro.
