Rincon - George Winfield Bragg, 82, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at Candler Hospital.

Mr. Bragg was born in Bulloch County, Ga., December 26, 1922, to the late George Osborne Bragg and Mary Alva Phillips Bragg. He was a resident of Rincon for the last 37 years having moved from Savannah. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served with the 795th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Division in the European Theater during WWII. Mr. Bragg was deacon and adult Sunday school teacher at Countryside Baptist Church in South Guyton. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Marjorie Sapp, Lois Davis, Kathleen Suddath, and Marion Stafford.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Sallie Smith Bragg os Rincon; three daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Jim Schouten of Dallas, TX, Nancy and Johnny Boyd of Guyton, and Pamela and Paul Wallis of Rincon; five grandchildren, Christopher Schouten of Clearwater, FL, Rebecca Schouten of Austin, TX, George Wallis of Charleston, SC, Nanci and Tamela Wallis, both of Rincon; one brother, Glenn O. Bragg of Rincon; two sisters, Martha Edenfield and Shirley Horton, both of Rincon; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel.

Interment will be in Emit Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
