Civil War veteran, Company I, 29th Infantry. Enlisted 15th August, 1862 and mustered out 22nd June, 1865 in Shreveport, LA.

Born Anders Pedersen at the Amordokken farm under Elset near Solum, near Skein, Telemark, Kingdom of Norway, he was one of at least ten children.He was baptized at the Solum Lutheran Church.

He married Gunhild Kittlesdatter "Guri" 9th July, 1866, most likely in Dodge County, Wisconsin. They had the following children.
