Born at the Amurdokken farm, which was a part of the Elset farm, she came to Wisconsin with her parents 1857 and lived in the Ashippun, Dodge County area. She married Halstein Toreirson Baland 27 April, 1872. They had four children. Isaac Herman,George Torger, Elda P. and Emma J. Her parents are buried at St. Olaf at Toland,Dodge Co.WI. as Peter and Caroline Anderson.
