LOCAL WOMAN CALLED HOME -
Mrs. Gertrude Peterson died suddenly at 10:30 last night at her home 1203 Fifth Avenue, south. She was 71.

Funeral rites will be conducted at 2:30 Friday afternoon at Central Baptist Church by the Rev. John C. Cowell Jr, pastor, and Brown will be in charge of burial at City Cemetery. The procession will leave the residence at 2 p.m. for the church.

Mrs. Peterson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Nick Brown, Mrs. Esther Kilgore, Decatur; Mrs. C.J. Roberts, Huntington Park, Calif; three sons,, Charles B. Patterson Ancon, Panama; Arthur Peterson, Arkadelphia, Ark, and L.C. Peterson Jr, Birmingham and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Harry Dublin, John Zanvit, Will Moore, Jack Burk, Ellis Garnett and W.F. Love.

Seemingly in excellent health, Mrs. Peterson retired about 10 o'clock last night. A few minutes after lying down her daughter Mrs. Kilgore noticed her mother appeared ill and death came a few minutes later.

Mrs. Peterson was born in Germany in 1866 but came to America to reside when quite young. Widow of the late L.C. Peterson she had made her home in Decatur 45 years. She was a member of the Baptist church and was widely beloved.
