...Another of the honored pioneers of our town [Lyndonville] passed away on Sabbath last. ....Maria, daughter of Simeon and Tamma [Hoskins] Gilbert was born in the town of Coeymans,Albany, N. Y., January 12, 1802.She was one of a family of eleven children [Baruch Hoskins,
Martin, Elihu Paine, Nathan Coleman, Mary (Hill), Phebe (Mason),Salina (Tyler), Sarah (Daniels), Mary[Polly] (Hill), and Cecilia of whom there is no additional information].
She came with her parents to this town in the spring of 1818, and was married to Stephen Burr Johnson, November 4th, 1819. ....They raised a family of five children, two sons, and three daughters...Nearly 20 years ago, Mr. Johnson was called from his activities of life, to cross the majestic river of death. ...interment Lynhaven Cemetery.
Children: Stephen C., Nathan P., Lydia S., Cornelia Tuttle,and Cynthia (Mrs. Hiram Deline).
