William H. Lasher, 85, of Ford City, formerly of Kittanning, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at the VNA Hospice Home, in Butler. He was born Dec. 30, 1924, in Adrian, to the late Thomas and Lena (Wolfe) Lasher. He was a member of Brush Valley Church, in Adrian, and attended First Baptist Church of Ford City. He was married Oct. 11, 1947, to Isabel Mae (Crissman) Lasher, who died Sept. 30, 2009. Their daughter, Pamela Diane Malarkey, died Sept. 6, 2004. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Thomas Lasher, Edward Lasher and infant brother, Charles Lasher. Bill served in the Army during World War II as a private first class in New Guinea. Following the war, he worked for the B & O Railroad as a foreman until his retirement in 1986. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, caring for his wife, children and grandchildren. He was an avid sports fan of the Pirates, Penguins and Steelers. Survivors include a son, William K. Lasher, of Ford City; three grandchildren, Kristen Tedeski and her husband, Jeffrey, of Kittanning, Zachary Shepard, of Ford City, and Michael Lasher, of Ford City; one great-granddaughter, Isabella Tedeski, of Kittanning; three brothers, James Lasher and his wife, Ethel, of Kittanning, Wade Lasher and his wife, Janet, of Kittanning, and Paul Lasher, of Kittanning; one sister, Mildred Beatty and her husband, Paul, of Kittanning; a special niece, Sue French, of Kittanning; a son-in-law, Robert Malarkey, of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the SNYDER-CRISSMAN FUNERAL HOME, in Kittanning, and from 10 a.m. Saturday until time of services at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, in Kittanning, with the Rev.
