Mrs. William J. Newman
Mrs. Sarah Louemma Lineberry Newman, 88, wife of Willliam Jesse Newman, died at the family home in the Hebron community of Carroll County Friday night, March 8.
Born in Carroll County, Mrs. Newman was a daughter of the Joseph Lineberry and wife, Mrs. Mahala Bryant Lineberry.
Surviving are four sons, Charles Newman, Ellis Newman, Lester Newman and Everett Newman, and two daughters, Mrs. H. C. Carico and Mrs. Robert Dillon, all of Galax and vicinity; one brother, Richard Lineberry, Galax, and one sister, Mrs. Jim Burke, Mount Airy, N. C.
Funeral services were held at Hebron Christian Church Sunday at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. W. Isom Melton, pastor of the church, and the Rev. A. C. Meadows, pas­tor of the First Christian Church, Radford, conducted the services.
Interment was in the Hebron Cemetery.
The body remained at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Ga­lax until taken to the church one hour before the services.
