The stricken family of Jim Moss is suffering from acute want. They have barely enough to eat, hardly enough clothes to cover their backs, and not enough fuel to provide comfort during cold weather.
Their needs are real, and it is a worthy case. Imagine your own plight had you lost four children, three of them by a terrible illness caused by poisoning.
If you can spare any food – and it is plentiful –; if you can spare any clothes – and they, too, are plentiful; if you can help gather fuel for the family, communicate with the Herald, Sheriff Hubert Crawford, or Dr. Harry L. Upperman, at Baxter.
Putnam County Herald, Cookeville, TN: Thursday, 17 December 1931.
