Reverend Raymond Richie Beaver, 83, of Eufaula, passed away on Tuesday October 5, 2010 at his home. Raymond was born on June 16, 1927 in Eufaula, Oklahoma to Roman Luke and Hannah (Mitchell) Beaver. He was raised in Eufaula and received early education from Bacone School in Muskogee and Eufaula Public Schools. Raymond was baptized at an early age at Bacone by B.D. Weeks. On July 19, 1945, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving during WWII. Raymond was honorably discharged on January 7, 1947. In 1953, he married Hattie Mitchell in Stigler, Oklahoma. Raymond retired from Naval Ammunition Depot, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Okfuskee Indian Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon from 1966 and was also the pastor from 1990 to present until illness overtook him. Survivors include: his wife, Hattie, of the home; two sons, Mitchell Beaver, of Eufaula; Robert Beaver and wife Kimberly, of Balch Springs, TX; one sister, Henryetta Marshall, of Eufaula; eight grandchildren, Kelli Beaver, Tusa Beaver, Dana Dibble, Clara Beaver, Corina Beaver, James Beaver, Jr., John Beaver and wife Meagan, Robert Beaver, Jr.; and eight great grandchildren, Hannah, Richie, Adyson, Kindin, Kylie, Patrick, Jolie, and Sophia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Hannah Beaver; three sons, Richie, James, Sr., and Solomon Beaver; two sisters, Jennie Barnett; Virginia Francis; and one brother, Mitchell Byar Beaver. A wake service will be held at 7:00p.m. at the Okfuskee Indian Baptist Church on Friday October 8, 2010. Funeral services will held at 2:00p.m. on Saturday October 9, 2010 at the Okfuskee Indian Baptist Church with Reverend Jimmy Anderson officiating. Pallbearers are Desmond Barnett, Rodney Barnett, Mitchell Barnett, James Beaver, Jr., John Beaver, and Clem Lewis. Honorary Pallbearers are Morris Lewis, Colbert Hill, Woody Sulphur, Chris Feeling, Jackie Feeling, and Jack Feeling. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Hunn Black & Merritt Funeral Home & Crematory.
