Thomas Monroe was the son of William Ross and Martha (Montgomery) Williams. He was born on "the Clear Creek Farm". After the death of his mother he along with his father and siblings relocated to Oklahoma. He married Mabel Clare UPTON on Nov 30, 1902 in Tishomingo, Chickasaw Lands, Indian Territory; they had 7 children: Eugene Monroe, Christine, Inez Almedia, Claudia Leota,
Lomer Fay, William Pershing "WP" and Billie Margaret.
