Jennie Ramer Austin, 87, of Hutchinson, daughter of Joseph A. Wells and Ada L. Judd was born March 12, 1901 in Bennington. She died April 16, 1989 in Hutchinson.

Jennie married Wesley Ramer April 21, 1921 in Council Grove. He died April 25, 1941. She then married W. L. Austin December 26, 1948 in Hutchinson and he died December 28, 1965. She has been a Hutchinson resident since 1934 moving from Salina.

She was a member of Forest Park United Presbyterian Church, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 1361 and Mothers Club all of Hutchinson.

Survivors include four daughters, Merle Eklund of Carmichael, CA., LeVerne Burgess of Fresno, CA, Betty Bing and Patricia Nolte, both of Hutchinson; two step children, Jim Austin and Gay Nothern both of Salina; sister Leona Austin of Salina; ten grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 19, 11 a.m. at Elliott Mortuary, Hutchinson. Graveside services were held Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. at Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to the church or Hospice of Reno county.
